DISTILLED ON OUR FARM
Mountain View Lavender uses small batch steam distillation to extract the oil from lavender plants right on the farm. Grosso variety is grown to produce both essential lavender oil and hydrosol – a light lavender mist that can be used as a multi-purpose cleaner, skin toner or room freshener.
The 110-gallon distiller cooks the plants and condenses the steam into liquid, with each small batch rendering both essential oil and hydrosol. All products are sold at the farm (by appointment only), or shop online.
ABOUT US
Mountain View Lavender is a local, family-owned and operated farm in Bend, Oregon, dedicated to growing and distilling unique varieties of lavender. The hearty and fragrant herb thrives in the arid climate of the high desert among ancient juniper trees and the aromatic sagebrush of Central Oregon, and produces an essential oil.
In what began as a need to connect with the land before retiring from their day jobs, owners Bob and Kathryn purchased the 12-acre farm with broad views of the Cascades. They planted over 1,500 lavender plants by hand, and have continued to expand their varieties to include culinary lavender as well as those grown for distilling essential oil. All of Mountain View’s lavender plants are sustainably farmed.
